I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Zendesk
Interview
Actually didn't get to point of interview. Recruiter reached out to me on LinkedIn to inquire interest for a Sr. SC role at Zendesk and set up a call. I let her know I wasn't actively looking but always open to speak. After asking the Recruiter questions around the team being supported, territory, and whether this role was a replacement or growth - she couldn't answer and offered to let me speak directly to the hiring manager. When getting on the phone with the hiring manager, he sprang right into an interview. When I clarified that the recruiter set up the call to answer some questions that she couldn't so I could understand more before proceeding, he was really annoyed and says "Look, I was told this was an interview...but I guess now I need to answer recruiter questions?" I didn't know how to respond to that, but clarified that I just wanted more information. He was flippant (saying more than once what a privilege it is to work for Zendesk), annoyed, and cut off the conversation early. Instead of apologizing for the miscommunication with the recruiter, he took it out on a prospective candidate. The recruiter later tried to set up an in-person interview but I politely declined. At least I know a red flag about my manager before stepping in further.

Question 1
Why do you think you would be the right hire for this position?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zendesk in Apr 2021
Interview
Multi-stage process, incl. a Panel Interview with a presentation / demo and multiple cultural fit checks with potential peers and some management folks. Perfectly organised and very engaging from the Zendesk side.
