Had a semi-informal phone screening with HR and one meeting with a couple of team members. The job involved a security clearance so once they decided to move forward, the offer was contingent on the security clearance.
My interview process with Zemitek was a cordial and pleasant experience. It was a group interview with 4 current employees in attendance. Interview lasted up to an hour in length.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What was a past challenge you faced in your work environment? How did you address said challenge and overcome it.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at ZemiTek (Washington, DC) in Apr 2019
Interview
Hiring process was quite long, in part because of the furlough. I applied in December 2018 but didn't hear anything back until April 2019. I was then asked to complete the Biodata form then a few weeks later was asked for writing samples.
Finally, the on-site team was ready for an interview so they sent a few times and days to me which didn't work but they accepted my request for a new day and time. At my my request, I was also sent the names and titles of people who would be interviewing me. I met with the three person panel - one who would be my direct supervisor, the office director, and a team lead. The Zemitek contact also sat in on the interview to take notes and answer any questions (that were more for them). They asked very generic questions and it was quite obvious that they had just received my resume as they didn't have specific questions based on my background. It was also apparent that they were not quite sure what they wanted because it was a completely new position so the job description was vague as were their explanations as to what to expect.
I actually asked them more questions about the work environment and how they manage their employees. All went well - they liked my answers and the questions I asked. Within a few hours after the interview I was asked to submit three references. Then they came back to me to say that the team had additional questions about my resume (which they didn't ask in the interview). It took a month later until I heard back with a generic email that I did not receive an offer.
