      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. I interviewed at X (San Francisco, CA) in Aug 2019

      Interview

Inperson interview at the HQ in San Francisco. For which, I took BART from East Bay at 8:15AM. The interview was at 10AM. I met with 3 recruiters, 1 sourcer and 1 hiring manager via video and a couple of them on-site. The first interviewer, an off-site recruiter spoke to me via VC. She was very nice, professional and a great communicator. She asked me relevant questions and gave a nice flow to the interview. Then I was to meet another recruiter at San Francisco location. But for some reason, it started as a video interview. When I told him that we were in the same building, he came over to my conf room. I think the interview coordinator missed to inform him about my location, or something of that sort. The interviewer was however, great! Professional, direct, and knowledgeable. He asked all relevant technical questions. Due to prior confusion, the interview stretched into my (lunch?) break of 15 minute. He also had to rush as he told me he had another meeting to go to. In remaining 4 or so minute of break, I could only use the bathroom. Next panel was of two interviewers. One onsite and the other via video. After an initial warm-up, they gave me a real time computer exercise on sourcing. They were supposed to send the information week prior to the exercise, so I could do my research but I received it only a couple of hours earlier. I did the exercise to the best of my knowledge. Both were good interviewers. I just hoped they could have offered me something to eat as I had to skip the lunch. :-( Grabbing something from the cafe right outside the conf room would have been perfect. I hinted by requesting to eat my own snack. I ate it quickly as I did the computer exercise. Final round was with two remote interviewers, each joining in from two separate locations. They asked me mostly behavioral questions. Both were good and some of the questions were repetitive from prior interviewers. Overall the inperson interview appeared somewhat unorganized. The panel seemed a last minute assemble as the interviewers were rushed and ran a little overtime. I would have the coordinator make sure the candidate received all the relevant information beforehand and someone could make sure the candidate doesn't leave hungry, especially if this is during lunchtime. Overall it was a good experience that could have been great!

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

What were the challenges/ rewards in your last/ current role?
      Answer question

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at X in Mar 2015

      Interview

Fastest I've ever had- cold called by a recruiter, did a phone interview the next day and had an offer within an hour of my interview. It was through a staffing agency so they had to figure out logistics on their end but overall was quick and painless. I referred other friends and they had a longer process (more wait time, multiple interviews), they are looking for people that know how to do the job and hit the ground running. Timing is huge for getting hired, they have small teams and specific spots to fill so you have to catch them at the right time.
