They sent me a document containing several essays, and I was tasked with selecting two of them to edit. I had several hours to complete the task and upload it online.

Question 1
There was no live interview, only two essays I should edit.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Wordvice in Dec 2023
Interview
The interview process was all online, so it was super easy. There was a short editing test where you would line edit two or three passages and leave comments. About a week later they got back to me with an offer. Here is the per word pay rate they offered me: 120+ hour turnaround (1.3 cents), 72-hour turnaround (1.4 cents), 48-hour turnaround (1.5 cents), 24-hour turnaround (1.6 cents), 13-hour turnaround (1.8 cents), 9-hour turnaround (2.2 cents).
Ultimately, it wasn't worth it for me, but if you can line edit 1538 words an hour, you'll make 20-30 bucks an hour pre-tax.
The interview is essentially just the online editing test, where you edit two or more of the essay samples provided. Then, when hired, you complete the process and receive information about how their system works.
