I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at WillowTree
Interview
I was invited to the one-way video interview process. They justify why they do it ("so they can review more applicants"), which to me should have been a red flag that they lack the foresight/consideration to narrow down the applicant pool to a manageable size. They'd rather force YOU to to waste your time. I can understand if this was Microsoft or Oracle or something, but for a company that has <500 employees? Really? They also SPAMMED my inbox until I finally did the dang interview. I'm talking 3 emails a day. I started to wonder if this was a scam.
They also expect you to answer the majority of the questions within one attempt, but in the company video, the HR representative is clearly reading their little elevator speech off of a teleprompter. I found that hypocritical and a little concerning. You're not able to describe your own company without an obvious script?
I wouldn't make this interview a first priority. Invest your effort in the companies that are actually invested in you, too.

I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at WillowTree in Oct 2024
Interview
I first saw the job post on LinkedIn and then applied for the position directly from the company's website. I immediately got an email from the recruiter the same day. Scheduled an online interview with the recruiter for next week, and the very next day got a rejection email saying they are going with another candidate. The whole process seems very sketchy as during the interview the recruiter told me they are filling the role and then the very next day saying they already hired someone else. The company is wasting candidates' time.

Interview
I went through the entire length of the interview process: one-way video interview, telephone interview with HR, telephone/technical interview with recruiting manager, a secret work project on my own time, and onsite presentation/interviews. The entire process lasted nearly three months, spanning throug the holidays and ruined my mood for the best season of the year. Such a huge waste of time for everyone. As some other review had mentioned, the one-way video interview was not necessary at all, and way too mechanic. Maybe that's indeed their excuse to screen for certain type of people to hire. Looking back, the entire interview team lacks diversity (let's just say that it's a very white office/team), which I did not realize at the time, but looking back I realize it's such an alarming sign. They look for certain mold of people, and if you do not fit those types, you will not get hired regardless of your qualifications and potentials. I honestly would have accepted their offer if it were extended to me at the time. Yet, not receiving an offer from WillowTree turned out to be the best thing that happened to me in 2020.

Question 1
All the typical questions about research methodologies, as if they really cared. All they cared about was making an appearance to their clients.
