I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Western Asset Management (Pasadena, CA) in May 2011
Interview
Everything was very well organized. I first met and interviewed with a representative from Human Resources who had a printed out agenda ready for me. The person asked me general questions (What do you know about the firm? Tell me about your experiences, etc).
I interviewed with the hiring managers who asked me detailed questions about my resume, skill sets, technical background, etc.
They firm emphasizes a team-oriented approach pretty heavily.
I interviewed at Western Asset Management (London, England)
Interview
nice experience which was over 2 interviews and spoke to a fair number of the team prior and also met with on in person which was good. Technical questions asked but not crazy.
Interview process went from 2 stages to 9. Kept being strung along only to be turned down. Wasn't a pleasant set up, the team seemed uninterested and just as exhausted as I was with these interviews. They seemed indecisive and the working hours were very vague. Generally got a chaotic feeling.
Standard process. Phone screen with personal (tell me about yourself), interest about the company, and behavioral questions. Two weeks later, I was invited for a 4-30 mins interview, about fit and technical.
