      Systems Engineer Interview

      20 Aug 2016
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Sydney
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Weir Group (Sydney) in May 2016

      Interview

Weir Minerals have no idea what they are doing, got a phone call from their HR to organised a phone interview with IT Manager and Team Leader. When I got the phone call they asked my simple Microsoft, Network related questions which impressed them enough to invite me for a face to face interview. Their HR had told me the date and time for interview but when I arrived the IT Manager and Team Leader where advised it was the following week however I had written proof in my email is was the day I arrived. Cause of this they were not prepared for the interview, they asked a few questions and showed me their data centre and Windows imaging process (SOE). A week went by and I didn’t hear back, until the IT Manager called me and asked if someone from HR had contacted me I told yes I got a missed call and I tried calling back several times and left a message. IT Manager advised HR tired calling me and I didn’t answer there for I wasn’t interested in the job, I told that is incorrect and I am interested in the job and tired calling back several times. Within a few days I was invited back for second face to face interview, this time with HR and the IT Manager, the interview went really well with both side discussing behavioural and technical questions. The entire interview went for an hour, I was told they would have an answer for me by the end of the week but that wasn’t the case I didn’t hear a single peep out of them and when I tried calling and emailing them about my status for role I was given the cold shoulder with un-replied emails and phone calls.
