The interview processes were all very pleasant during my years with the company. My first was when I was hired part time, my second interview was when I applied to a full time position, and my third was an interview regarding transferring jobs to another store. The second interview was roughly a few months after I was hired, and the third took place after I had been with them a few years. Both subsequent times I felt the people interviewing me gave me due credit for my existing performance at the company, despite them all being different HR reps and managers! The initial interview process for me consisted of an in-person interview with the manager of the area I applied to, and I was also given a tour of that area. Side note; do your homework on food safety! Wegmans is very strict on food safety and if you apply to one of the food service positions it'll do you good if you already have an idea of what you can and cannot wear. For example, earrings and other piercings should not be worn during food prep, and other jewelry and nail polish is typically frowned upon. Even if you're not applying to a food service position directly, food is still considered their top priority so it's totally worth it to just plain have food on your mind throughout the entire process, aside from the general customer service priorities. That initial interview was followed by an over the phone interview with the HR rep of the store, which I don't remember vividly but I feel like the bulk of the questions were asked over the phone. I do remember this taking a good chunk of time, but it was still straight forward and smooth. The second call I got was an offer for the job!

I received a email the day after submitting my application. Fast on the response but long in the interview. The duration of my first interview is long. 50 minutes for a phone interview should be a crime. Especially, for a job at Wegmans. It should be kept around 30 minutes at best. Prepare yourself for many questions as you will be asked on What-Ifs scenarios, describing a situation, and kitchen questions. If you apply for food service, you will be interviewed by the hiring manager and cafe manager. Mamma mia, I got a tour of the pizza department. I was not given an offer after my interview.
