I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets in Nov 2015
Interview
My friend referred me and I applied online. The process took quite a while because their interview process is really extensive and tedious but it's worth it. I got an email saying to call to schedule the first interview which was a phone interview. It overall took about a half hour and the person interviewing me asked pretty basic questions like why choose wegmans, availability, motivating factor, strengths and weaknesses, etc. It was pretty relaxed, she just went by the book on it, nothing was really difficult. Then I got a call about a week later about scheduling the second in person interview. I got interviewed by the hiring manager and one of the chefs. They asked me pretty much the same questions, but this time they included a lot of situational questions, but nothing was too hard. Personally, I thought I did horribly because I get nervous like all the time during interviews, but they were super nice and it was a really relaxed atmosphere. After a week, I got a call and got the job
I applied online. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets (Richmond, VA) in Sept 2025
Interview
This wasn't an interview, but rather a humiliation ritual. I was looking for a part-time role while going back to school online, and the interviewer was super condescending. She also asked questions that I had already answered on the workaday page. I'm so turned off that I decided to boycott Wegman's (despite previously spending $150+ a month there.) I really like Wegman's as a brand, but your recruiters are hurting the brand. I feel like the interviewer only wanted someone who is going to be a dishwasher forever,

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets (Johnson City, NY) in Nov 2024
Interview
First they do a phone call, then follow up with an in-person interview if your availability and answers fit their interests. They ask a lot of the generic "why do you want to work for this company?" questions, which is a good opportunity to flex what you know about the company.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets (Chapel Hill, NC) in Sept 2024
Interview
The first interview was on the phone and basically covered basic qualifications. The lady on the phone invited me to a follow-up in-person interview. It was unusually formal for a basic retail job, and the sous chef and an HR rep interviewed me jointly.
