I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets (Amherst, NY) in Feb 2013
Interview
First there is a 10 minute phone interview that goes over your basic info and a few behavioral questions.
Second, there is an interview with an HR person that lasts about 45 minutes. This interview is grueling. They ask about 20 or 25 behavioral interview questions, really asking the same thing over and over, but expecting you to come up with different detailed examples for each one. This interview was ridiculous to become a freaking cashier. I had an interview with a law firm for an internship position, and that interview was actually significantly easier than this one.
Third there is an interview with the department manager or supervisor you will be working for. Pretty easy. They seem to think that the question sheet they get from HR is kinda ridiculous and pointless and they really don't seem to care what your answers are.
