      User Experience Researcher Interview

      7 Apr 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      London, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Wefarm (London, England) in Jan 2020

      Interview

The UX Lead reached out for a phone interview. Next was another round of interviews with a product manager, operations manager, and a country manager. Next was a take-home assessment and presentation to the head of Product, Engineering and some other persons I do not know. Next, they ghosted and sent an automated reply saying they are not going forward. They do not have any process in place or a structure. I think this was the first time, the UX Lead was hiring a person and was more confused about the entire process. Hence, the many steps and unnecessary interviews. They do not also value people's time, if after giving a rigorous interview process and you cannot send a personalized message on reasons why you're not moving forward. This is a small organization, so they do not have any issue with too many applicants and all that. Overall, I do not think they are serious about recruiting for the UX Research role as the role remains open on their end for the past year now. They are time wasters.

Thank you for your review. We want everyone who interacts with Wefarm to enjoy doing so, and so I’m disappointed to hear that your experience wasn’t positive. Feedback is always an opportunity for us to learn and improve and we've already ensured that any lessons from this have been applied to our hiring process. On the specific points that you raised: We do have a detailed hiring process and structure in place - and our teams have worked really hard to create this. We typically receive hundreds of applications for each role and organising this pipeline takes time. We created each step in the process so that everyone receives a full review of their application from relevant parts of the business and that applicants have the chance to meet as many team members as possible, to see if Wefarm is right for them. This process is normally 3-4 steps, which is fairly normal for a high-growth business looking to hire the best talent. Feedback is really important and it's an area that we are working to improve. However, we do provide feedback for candidates that make it through to the second stage (which is only fair, given the time that candidates invest in the process!). Thank you for your time and for considering Wefarm and we really appreciate your honest feedback. Best, Alex
