      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wayfair (Boston, MA) in Nov 2017

      Interview

The hiring process started with a phone interview with a recruiter. He was professional and courteous on the phone. Recruiters are Wayfair employees, vs some other companies that outsource it, and they are very knowledgeable about th company and the position. After that, there was a technical phone screen with a senior engineer and an on-site, hands-on interview and meeting with the managers and some team members.

      Question 1

There are some general software development questions relevant to the mobile platform such as algorithm, OOP related, how you’d design and architect a mobile app given some hypothetical scenarios. You’d also be asked to work on a starter project and finish it. The questions and sample projects are fairly geared toward the level of proficiency you’re applying for.

I applied through other source. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wayfair (Boston, MA) in Mar 2018

      Interview

I had an amazing interview experience with Wayfair. Their HR department moved quick and kept me updated along every step. It started with a phone call with their recruiter who was interested at set me up with a technical phone interview. It turned out to be a Google Hangout with one of the iOS developers. I talked about myself, then downloaded a project from the developer. I shared my screen with him and worked on the project as he watched. It was simple and included getting data and displaying it in a table view. After that, I was invited for an on-site interview. Their office is great and located right in the heart of Boston. I had three interviews, each with two people. First, there was a technical interview where I was tasked with fixing and debugging an existing project. Second, another technical interview but less hands-on and more whiteboard / iOS questions. And third was a personality interview where I met with two leaders in iOS and talked about myself and Wayfair. Shortly after, they made a great offer, but I decided to go with a different company. It was not easy to say no to Wayfair. They have an amazing team and a great product.
