      Cybersecurity Management Consultant Interview

      16 Apr 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Hong Kong
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through university. I interviewed at Wavestone (Hong Kong) in Mar 2024

      Interview

The first round of the interview is on-site and mainly asking some fit-based questions for approximately an hour, the interviewer's false smile is extremely unbearable. The second round of interviews is also on-site and will be conducting a case interview. The interviewer for the second round would be a senior to manager-level consultant. After each round, your interviewer will have a debrief session about your interview performance and whether they are willing to proceed with your interview into the next round. First of all, the atmosphere of the whole company is superficial, not sincere, and didn't show much respect to their candidates. There is no waiting room for you, and my second-round interviewer is awful. During the case study, she could not articulate the interview process and the interview timeline well, and she forgot to tell me that there would be a PPT that you have to deliver for the case study; I asked her then she reminded me of this point. She also asked many same questions from the first round, which makes me feel that their hiring process is chaotic. Furthermore, the whole interview would be 2 hours, however, she did not tell me the presentation time, so I intuitively assumed the rest of the half-hour would be my turn to present myself and my case. When the time approached the last 15 minutes, she started to get annoyed and pushed me to finish the presentation on an early basis. She was a terrible manager, you could tell she could not manage a good team from this aspect. Second, during the debriefing session of the second interview, they could not find well enough reasons to say no to me, since every positive feedback and negative feedback about my performance mainly circled the same traits, which conflicts with each part. I do commit that my performance is not so good compared to my other performances due to their irresponsibility in the interview process. The most hilarious thing about their comments to me is that I found the suggestion "do not use the word cool, is not professional" would be the most valuable suggestion from their nonsense-like comments. What's more irritating is the attitude of the manager during the debriefing session. When she was talking about the negative comment part, you could tell her arrogant, disrespectful, disdainful, and smirking from her obvious facial expressions. Crushing your confidence as a pleasure and satisfaction of her own. They also have many grammar mistakes in their emails. Last, I wouldn't suggest anyone try to have an interview with them. 1. Extremely small office in HK. 2. Time-consuming and bad attitude, wouldn't treat you well if you get in. 3. Arrogant is the killer. 4. I assume that they indeed do not hire anyone as a fresh grad and are not willing to focus on their own people, not willing to improve their employees.
