It started with an AI recruiter scheduling a time to talk to the human recruiter. Once emailing the human recruiter, we set a date and time. It took 3 tries to actually get the phone call. 1st time she emailed to reschedule 10 minutes before the call. I was ok with it. She was grateful for the flexibility. 2nd time she missed the meeting stating she thought it was the next day. She sounded very apologetic in email and offered to be flexible with me on 3rd attempt. 3rd time went through. No technical questions. Just talking about Disney, Very impressed with my experience. Great conversation. Ended with setting me up for a technical video interview.
Video interview setup was difficult. It was a different recruiter giving me times to select. I selected a time. Few days passed and I followed up. Yet a different recruiter responded saying the times they said were not available. Set another time and had the interview. This was with a technical lead in the department. Started with general things like being ok with travel (long term travel role), being good with odd hour meetings with overseas, etc. Moved onto 30 questions on "What's your level of experience with XYZ". Owner, contributor, familiar with, none. For me maybe 2 were none, most were contributor, and few were owner. It became a little robotic ticking boxes on a checklist.
The hour flew by. He had to cut it off. I was just given the opportunity to ask questions something came up and he had to abruptly end.
Was supposed to hear something in 2 weeks. 3 weeks passed. I emailed original recruiter, met with silence. Eventually after a month the job portal updated to no longer under consideration. Asked original recruiter for feedback. Silence.
