      Inventory Control Specialist Interview

      24 Mar 2009
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Athens, OH
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart (Athens, OH) in Mar 2009

      Interview

Called in for an interview, but not told the position. I met with an hourly manager who gave me a print out of my online app to OK. Several statements to approve/OK pre-hire (Drug test policy, ADA statement, etc.) Then he asked standardized/pre-printed questions and rated my answers on a 1-5 scale. Describe a time: when you gave great customer service, what about a difficult customer, tell about you took a short cut and what happened, what if you didn't have time to properly complete a job. Was asked about time management, too. Having approved my answers I waited while he keyed my answers and get asalary manager. *as I waited in the training board I read the "hiring process" poster: 1. READ application, 2. Call for interview....Hourly manager interview, Salary manager interview, make offer, accept offer...call references...set orientation Salary manager questions were just a simple as the last interview and almost redundant. Tell about when you had to break a rule, stick to a rule, and bend a rule. Asked about time management/priority setting. Was given an offer well below what I asked for as a minimum on the app. (and part time <32 hours) Declined and was warned that "OK if you do, but once I enter that you (decline, you) are kicked out of the system for, like, 90 days, I think, until you can be considered again, (or) reapply."

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Walmart (Shrewsbury, PA)

      Interview

The interview contained a lot of scenario based questions as well as "Tell me about a time when.." . Very generic questions, typical cliche interview questions, at least in 2007.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Walmart

      Interview

I had two different interviews on the same day. The first one asked more questions than the second interview. You have to pass the first interview to move on to the other stages. It was not hard but you have to watch a lot of videos when hired.

      Interview

Very laid back and easy interview process. Basic questions about work ethic, schedule, and job expectations. Only had one interview with the store manager and next week i was asked to come in to start the hiring process. Very large store and had a really cool work environment.I had a very cool and easy to get along with supervisor and he was also helpful in answering my questions throughout the hiring process and training.
