I applied online. I interviewed at WP Engine in Oct 2025
Interview
Recruiter screening call, hiring manager interview, several individual interviews, then asked to prepare a case to present to marketing leadership team. Then offer and negotiation - smooth, professional process. Typical in tech industry but not overly intense like some of the others are. I felt that the recruiter, Darren O'Dwyer advocated for me and had both my back and WP Engine's back. Darren also was very communicative and kept me engaged on the process.

I applied online. I interviewed at WP Engine (Austin, TX) in May 2022
Interview
I was interviewed during the "started up" phase in around 2015. As I recall, stared with a phone call and technical interview. I went a second time into the office for an in-person interview and went to a nearby coffee shop with my potential manager where we chatted for a bit.

Question 1
There are some general knowledge based questions about Web Hosting, WordPress and Linux knowledge, but there's also a subtle "vibe check" going on to see if you're a culture fit.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at WP Engine (San Antonio, TX) in Aug 2025
Interview
First step was to talk to the recruiter who was very good about level setting and giving me information about the position, benefits, and company. Next was meeting with the hiring manager who also reviewed the process, team composition and responsibilities. My main interview process involved 3 loops, one was a coding test which I actually thoroughly enjoyed and the team members who interviewed me were great. The second interview was more architecture related and the third was product and process focused. In all it was a very pleasant interview process, probably one of the best.

Question 1
My coding question focused on querying an API and parsing the data into a format which allowed me to analyze it and make decisions on it.
