Interviewed for: UX Designer
Interview Date: April 2026
Overall Experience: Negative
I found the interview experience disappointing and poorly structured.
The interview started late, and the initial interviewer appeared disengaged from the conversation. After only a few minutes, I was informed that the interview would need to be rescheduled. A second interviewer later joined, but the discussion felt equally unstructured.
Rather than exploring my portfolio, design process, problem-solving approach, or product thinking in a meaningful way, the interview consisted largely of disconnected questions that seemed unrelated to one another. The conversation jumped between topics without a clear flow, making it difficult to understand what was actually being evaluated.
For example, questions would suddenly shift to highly specific topics such as accessibility ratios or isolated design details without any broader discussion of user experience, research, decision-making, trade-offs, or real-world product challenges. The interview felt more like a checklist of random questions than a thoughtful assessment of a UX designer's skills and experience.
The overall interaction felt impersonal and transactional, with limited engagement or genuine discussion. I left the interview feeling that there was little interest in understanding my work, my thought process, or how I approach design problems.
Advice to Management:
A more structured interview process would provide a much better candidate experience. UX interviews should evaluate problem-solving, design thinking, research, collaboration, and decision-making rather than relying on disconnected questions that don't give candidates a fair opportunity to demonstrate their abilities.
Do not recommend specially Pune UX team.
