      Home Health Care Giver Interview

      14 Dec 2021
      Anonymous employee
      Stockton, CA
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Visiting Angels (Stockton, CA) in Feb 2020

      Interview

My experience was in a group setting. It was a one day thing where they had rented out a venue especially for hiring. If you had gotten an email, you can print out and fill out a resume before arriving but they do have them there if needed. You do need at least a year of previous experience (family experience works as well) They have you go through a series of things such as drug testing and filling out paperwork in that one sitting. The actual "interview" is just sitting across the table from someone and answering questions pertaining to how you would take care of certain patients, how well of a cook you are, and what kinds of patients you have taken care of before. Relatively easy and quick. Almost a guarantee that you will be hired even with minimal previous experience. If you do not have good previous experience, they do not actually hands on train you, so keep that in mind, big time! They didn't ask me any of the normal "what are you greatest strengths" or "Tell me about a time you struggled in a position" type of questions. Only questions regarding the elderly and where you were able to work. Honestly, all of these things are red flags. It is okay to have a group setting interview if they are going to be doing private interviews later or at a later date. Nothing was private it was pretty much instantly being hired. After being hired, the no hands-on training was also a HUGE red flag as well. Good job for temporary only.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How long have you worked with the elderly? What ailments have you worked with? How well of a cook are you? Do you have a drivers License and/or car? Are you okay with working with elderly who smoke? What area do you live in and are willing to work in?
