The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Viking Capital in Mar 2024
Interview
This was a first round phone screen. The company is very small so I didn't speak with a recruiter - I believe it was just someone from their team (only about 20 ppl work there). She just asked me basic questions about my background. The issue is that this company requested me to take multiple personality tests that were pretty time consuming. In addition, they sent over questions about their company and my background for me to answer via email (probably around 7-8 questions). All of this was done before they scheduled the initial call. I thought that was a bit much to ask for BEFORE even speaking to someone. After the initial call, I got ghosted and never heard a word back. They clearly don't value applicants time and I've learned not to participate in assessments until after I've spoken to someone at the company and decided its actually somewhere worth spending the time on.
3 rounds: initial resume reivew - 30-min phone interview about resume and experience and tech questions - Code Online assessment - 30-60 min phone/onsite interview about tech and research experience - offer
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Viking Capital (Greenwich, CT) in May 2016
Interview
First round was a phone screen. Then had an in person meeting at their Greenwhich office. I met with a few people. One over video chat. Talked about the industry in general, my past experience and strengths and weaknesses. They talked about the job requirements and how I would handle the responsibilities. Everyone was intelligent and friendly.
