I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret in Aug 2013
Interview
I was a pretty basic interview process. Once i handed in my application, they gave me an interview date on the spot. It was a group interview with four people total, five including the interviewer. She asked basic retail questions like "tell me about yourself" (give an answer that relates to retail and or customer service and being friendly). "Why Victoria's Secret" (give an answer that shows you feel you belong best at Victoria's Secret, I basically told her I felt I could truly be myself in that environment. She loved that answer). About five minutes later, I was called back for a second interview the next day with the store manager. The second interview was a one-on-one interview, in an office in the stock room. She asked me to tell her about myself again and then the manager who interviewed me first kind of took over and started talking about how well I did yesterday. She said i gave one of the best answers she has ever heard in an interview and then explained to the store manager that my experience would be very helpful. Not that i needed it, but it was very nice and comforting knowing she was on my side. They were very impressed with my drive at 18 years old. The second interview only took about 10 minutes and she said " I think I already know my answer" and that my little availability because of school would not be a problem. She said another manager just had to check my references and they would call back. I got a call five days later with an offer. She mentioned how excited she was to work with me. Hearing from friends who have worked there, she is not very friendly usually so i was very relieved. (I then told all my managers from Abercrombie and Fitch where I work now i got the job and they were all happy for me which i think is pretty funny. They just was discounted bras haha).
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The last question was when she told us the name of a policy they had and we had to describe what we thought it meant. Sincerely answer what you think it means and remember they revolve around excellent customer service.
Hiring managers prioritize your personality, availability, and customer service mindset, looking for candidates who are friendly, adaptable, reliable, and comfortable engaging with customers, rather than focusing heavily on prior experience or technical skills.
Very easy, first a phone call then meeting in person. Took a while to be seen in person even after the scheduled meeting time, they had me just kind of stand in a corner for a while waiting for someone to become available.
