I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Victoria Advocate (Victoria, TX) in Jun 2012
Interview
It's an intense two-day process and you meet with everyone in the newsroom. Everyone wants to meet with you and let you know how things work. You attend budget meetings and they let you get a feel for a typical day. I think they want to see you get tired, and make sure you're not going to lose steam toward the end. Positivity is paramount. The managers take you out to breakfast, lunch and dinner at some fairly nice restaurants, and they give you free lodging at a nice Victorian condo for a few days while you're going through the interview.

Question 1
Why do you want to work here? How do manage your time? How do you deal with multiple personalities and conflict?
I applied online. The process took 2+ months. I interviewed at Victoria Advocate
Interview
Started with a phone interview with the editor, it was about an hour or so. At the end of the phone interview we set up an in person interview.
The in person interview involves talking with pretty much everyone in the newsroom and doing a test story. I was supposed to meet with HR also but she was out sick when I was there.
I was told they would follow up in a couple of weeks but it took more than two months before I heard anything.
