      Interview

There are about 5 rounds of interviews. First round is with HR, then with the hiring manager. After that I was brought into the office for all day interviews with various team members. The final process was a top grade interview which goes over various different aspects of your career and decision making skills. The questions were all relevant to the job and industry.

      Interview

In short: Vibes uses a standard tech interview process of phone call, coding problem/general background review, and finally a so called top grade interview. Generally nice people and a seemingly flexible work environment, but not the most exciting company. There was an initial phone call with a team member who walked me through some of their processes and some examples of projects that have been built in the past. After this there was a bit of difficulty in scheduling an onsite interview, but Vibes as a whole was flexible with this which I appreciated. For the onsite interview the office was in a nice location and relatively easy to get to which was really helpful. The interview itself started with one of their engineering managers who showed me around the office before I began the technical portion. This section was a standard tech interview where they give you some problem to solve and see if you can make a set of tests pass. The interviewers for this were very friendly and for the most part helpful, but coding in front of someone is never fun. One thing that sort of annoyed me was the interviewers mentioning again and again that solving the problem on my own wasn't the goal, but rather working with them to solve it. That's a nice sentiment, but I think anyone who says it's not about the individual themself solving the problem at hand is full of it. I suspect the aspects of the technical section that I did stumble on were the largest detriments for me despite being able to solve the problem. After finishing up with the code the first interviewer returned and we talked for another hour or so about aspects of the organization and what sort of work environment they were seeking to foster. About a week later they followed up saying they weren't interested. Oh well, at least they got back to me.

      Interview

I was very impressed to say the least. The office environment is like none that I've seen for a company that is by no means a "start-up". After being interviewed by several different employees I found myself not really wanting to leave. Everywhere you look, people seemed to be very happy, and that is ultimately what sold me.
