I applied for the role of Public Viewing Sales & Operations Manager at ViaPlay and decided to withdraw my application after careful consideration. The position did not align with my career goals and moreover, my expectations. There were several reasons for my decision. Firstly, there were delays in communication throughout the process, and deadlines were consistently not met. After my first interview, I was supposed to receive a response that same Friday but didn't hear anything for three weeks. Secondly, the availability of positions and compensation package suddenly changed without informing me, which was not initially anticipated. Lastly, promised key elements, such as the full compensation package and the business case, were not delivered on time, which added to my reservations. The recruitment process did not reflect the company's promise of making things happen together. Unfortunately, my experience did not match that promise on several occasions. I provided feedback to the company, hoping it would help them identify potential bottlenecks and improve their future hiring processes. During the initial interview, I was asked inappropriate and potentially discriminatory questions, such as my marital status, whether I have children, and my age. These questions are considered inappropriate and discriminatory under Dutch law during a job interview. I believe it's important for the company to be aware of this and ensure a fair and compliant recruitment process in the future. Despite my experience, I think that ViaPlay is a remarkable organization, and I hope that my feedback will help them improve their recruitment process in the future. I appreciate the opportunity to interview and wish the team all the best in their future endeavors.
