      Retail Sales Representative Interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Verizon

      Interview

I applied online for one location, but the location closest to home didn't have any openings online. I decided to take my resume in the store. to the manager and it turns out they were hiring--just not posted yet. I guess I made a good impression because the next day a recruiter called me and told me the manager had given her my info. We set up a phone interview for the next day and she sent me some information about the position and the verizon credo to review. She was very friendly and asked me a few basic questions about my resume, mostly about past jobs and verifying what my resume said. Then she asked why I wanted to work at verizon. Then she asked me my favorite part of the credo. Very easy interview. Just a day or two later, the manager of the store called to set up a one-on-one interview. He asked me some questions about myself, why I think I'd be good for the job, and asked me what device I used and what were some of the advantages of it. Pretty much to "sell" the device to him. It was also a pretty easy interview. He asked some questions that were on a paper, but none were completely out of the ball park. Things like "What's the hardest thing about working in retail?" "Give me an example of a time someone came in for something and you were able to sell them something else, as well." "Give me a time when a customer had an unusual problem that required research." Questions will most likely be based on your past job experience. I was asked detailed questions about the things I sold in my previous job-- especially the tech stuff. They want to make sure you know what you are talking about when it comes to technology. The one on one interview went well and he immediately told me he wanted to schedule my final interview with the district manager. Normally, I believe they are also a face-to-face interview, but mine was another phone interview. The district manager asked questions similar to the store manager and recruiter, but was a little more in depth about me personally and where I saw myself in the future. We talked for about 30 minutes about the company and opportunities for advancement and what not. He was so nice and was very inspiring, as well! The next Monday I was called by the recruiter I had my first phone interview with. She extended an offer and I accepted. It was about a weeks worth of interviews, pretty fast paced compared to most companies. Overall, the experience was great!

      Interview

There were three parts to my hiring process. 1. The recruiter called me and asked me questions. 2. I spoke to the Assistant Manager. They asked me standard questions and we role-played a standard sale. 3. I did an in-person interview with the General Manager. We also did a role-play as well. BE PREPARED FOR THAT.
