After submitting an application for the position, I was later contacted for an interview with two hiring managers. There wasn't anything in the interview that were out of ordinary. However, after going through an interview in July, I didn't hear back until September that the position has been put on hold. I took out time out of my schedule to interview for this position, and I find it unprofessional to be told later that this position has been put on hold. I wish that the decision has been made earlier or at least I wish I was told about the position being put on hold shortly after my initial interview.
