I applied online. I interviewed at Vemma (Tempe, AZ) in Aug 2015
Interview
Sent a huge chunk of code for an ASP.NET MVC application to the HR manager because he said that the people looking at your application wanted to see what you could do. So I sent some code into them. And they called me into the Phoenix/Tempe area for an interview. I came in the front door and I was sat down in a lobby and made to wait for about an hour while I filled out an application form and then I was taken into a conference room where about 7 developers came out and they all asked me questions round robin for about an 2 hours. Then really big tall dude who looked like he played linebacker for the NFL Arizona Cardinals showed me around the place and I asked him if I could have some sample energy drinks (which were really pretty good) and he gave me about 8 cans of different energy drinks. I said thank you and he walked me to the front door and I said it was pleasure getting a chance to interview with you and your company and I hope we can work together sometime in the future. He didn't say anything he just looked down at me and smirked, snickered and laughed under his breath at me and then turned on his heels and walked off.
Of course then I found out a few years late that about 6 months after I had gone through the interview process that Vemma had gotten in trouble with FCC for running a Ponzi Scam/Scheme through it sales and marketing department and that the big shots of the company had all gotten indicted and eventually the company had to pay a huge fine to the Federal Government for their questionable business dealings. So I guess not getting the job was a blessing in disguise.
