Interview
STAY AWAY!!! I read the reviews here, but was desperate due to COVID-19 and went through with the interview process anyway. The process is very company-centric and not accommodating if you have any other deadlines coming up. I made the mistake of telling them I had a deadline and they didn't care at all so I accepted my other offer in between the 4th and 5th Veeva interviews.
I had 5 interviews over 5 weeks. All the interviews went well until the last one where I got "grilled" on why I chose this career path as opposed to one more directly related to my degree (no one asked me this question at all during the first 4 interviews so I figured they didn't care since they take all majors). I was rejected on the SAME DAY of my 5th interview with a generic response about how they didn't like my case presentation (the second round of the interview - which I got a lot of positive feedback on so I'm sure it is just a generic email they send everyone - completely unprofessional after 5 weeks of interviewing).
The case was not too difficult, but try to get it done a few days ahead. They can track your progress. The first, third, and fourth interviews were easy - all with generic identical questions. Each interview is from someone with a different title so that part is nice, but it would be nice if they asked different questions and if you didn't have to wait a week in between all of them since you don't have to prepare any differently for any of them.
I understand that their process is strenuous because they don't want to hire some young person to work remotely if they're not gonna do the work and aren't passionate, but they could certainly make the process smoother for candidates.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Why Veeva? Why consulting? Why the life sciences industry? What do each of our 4/5 values mean to you? How long did you spend on the case? Do you prefer working alone or in groups? How do you feel about working remotely? How do you feel about working more than 40 hours a week? Behavioral questions.
I didn’t trust the reviews online and thought they were over dramatic. They were true. The most grueling interview process I have ever been apart of. First interview is an hour and 45 minute behavioral, followed by a case study where they expect ~30-40 hours put in. You then have two more one hour calls with managers. I was told in the final call they were interviewing 30 people for one spot. Lack of respect for your time. Pay is 70k
