This was honestly one of the easiest interviews I’ve ever had for a data scientist role. The entire process was conversational and stayed at a very high level. I wasn’t asked to write any code, draw schemas, explain algorithms, or go into equations - nothing technical or hands-on at all.
Most of the discussion revolved around my past experience, particularly my time at a competing company that I left four years ago. It felt like that was their primary focus rather than my current skills or technical capabilities.
The interview touched on a wide range of topics related to data science, machine learning, and NLP, but everything was extremely broad and shallow. There was no deep dive into any specific area, no case studies, and no problem-solving challenges.
Overall, it felt more like a casual chat than a rigorous technical interview. Depending on what you're looking for in a role, that could be a plus or a red flag.
