      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Vanguard (Scottsdale, AZ) in Jun 2016

      Interview

I applied online and received a call back the next day and schedule an interview over the phone. Which took 30-45 mins. I was asked a series of STAR questions and what I know about Vanguard. The interview was very simple but I know that they are def checking on your relationship management skills as well as your customer service skills. After the interview I was invited to an onsite interview in Scottsdale. Mind you I was currently living in Charlotte NC. The recruiter booked my flight information, and my hotel all within 24 hours. Yes, I didn't have to pay for anything. I flew with American Airlines and stayed at the Hilton in Scottsdale. I was picked up by a personal drive with my name on a sign at the airport and was taken to my hotel. The same driver then took me to my interview and waited outside until I was done. The interview was pretty laid back and I was just asked a couple more STAR questions and also a case study. Which I figured out, they don't care about how ACCURATE you are, but how you take ownership and show empathy. So make sure you don't just focus on what happens, but how you will talk to the client. It took approximately 45 mins and then Ive gotten a tour of campus. It was a surreal celebrity like process. I was then taken back to my hotel and was offered to have my driver take me wherever I needed to go for dinner. I also has a $100 a day reimbursement budget, so I went out to eat with some friends I had in AZ. The next morning I had a driver pick me up to take me back to the airport. Its was all a great experience and I was amazed that some people that went thru the entire travel part, didn't even get the job. So please don't think that them flying you in, means you got the job in the bag. After I got home, I received an offer over the phone within 48 hours and we started my background process. The company is great. They truly care for their employees. Ive been here 3 months and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. Make sure that you research the company and try to let your personality shine. You don't have to be a broker. Just know simple things about the investment industry and show that you can handle any kind of customer service inquiry with passion and care.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Vanguard (Malvern, PA) in Jun 2016

      Interview

I talked to them at my school's career fair then applied online. I didn't think they were considering me because I didn't hear back until 2 months later, when I was contacted by a recruiter interested in doing a phone screen. Had a phone screen first which was pretty relaxed, but definitely know a few major financial terms. The recruiter said the phone screen was for 2 different positions and after describing the two positions, she said I could pick which one I was more interested in. At the end of the call, she invited me in for an in-person interview and we scheduled it for 2 weeks after. The in-person interview was with 2 people, both super nice and pleasant. They asked me mostly STAR questions so have plenty of scenarios prepared. Then there was a 15-minute case study which really wasn't too bad. The recruiter offered me the job the next day, much faster than I expected since the interviewers told me it would be a couple weeks before I heard back.
