I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at VIPKid (Madison, WI) in Nov 2019
Interview
With VIPKID, you can choose either to do a live demo or recorder demo. I did a live interview (i prefer it this way) and my interviewer was very nice and friendly. She explained to me that the interview will consist of 2 parts. The Q and A and the demo. After my demo, my interviewer gave me great feedbacks on how to improve my ESL teachings skills and i was hired on the spot
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What is your teaching background. (Formal teaching background = classroom setting; informal setting= mentoring, homeschooling, advising, TA, etc)
Got hired as a British speaking then cancelled as not from America which I disclosed at the first interview which I think was silly and unprofessional at the time it was during covid when this happpened.
Very lenghthy interview process, but the interviewers were nice and helpful. There were several steps to the process and it was pretty involved. I had to prepare a lesson beforehand
It was easy an straightforward. 1 interview and 2 mock classes to pass. They offer a contract for a year with option to renew after 1st contract is over. Overall the process last for about 2 weeks from the time you apply unless you are waitlisted.
