I applied online. I interviewed at Uwajimaya (Beaverton, OR)
Interview
The manager conducting the interview was aggressive and negative. Gave me the side eye on first entering the room. Asked me age related questions that are discriminatory. Informed me I would need to make recipe suggestions to customers and what recipes would I recommend. I've shopped in this store for years and not one cashier has ever offered me recipe recommendations. I felt beyond discriminated against for age and race.
I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Uwajimaya (Beaverton, OR) in May 2024
Interview
I applied and within a few days, they called me for the interview. If you can work on weekends and holidays, more than likely they will hire you. Also if you’re Asian I believe the company is definitely for you.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uwajimaya (Beaverton, OR) in Jun 2013
Interview
First got a phone interview from a woman from Seattle asking why I wanted to work at Uwajimaya. Got a second interview and was Interviewed by two managers. Make sure to smile a lot. Asked the typical customer service questions and my availability. Told me they would call me within a week and a little over a week went by without an answer so I called the main store for an update and got a call the next day saying I got the job.
