The first part - great! Spoke to an internal recruiter, went over the job and my background and agreed it would be a good fit and moved forward.
The second part - great! Met with a team lead, basic background and culture for questions. Went well, both exited about the next step and agreed I’d be moving on.
Third step - peer process. This is where it went sour. I’m not sure if there was a miscommunication or if one of the interviewers was just having a bad day but I was asked numerous trick questions and numerous questions that didn’t revolve around my background nor the job description that I was given in the previous two steps. I was asked fairly technical questions and how good I am at building computers. Something that was neither a requirement nor in my background. At first I thought I maybe was confused with someone else but other pieces of my background were specifically hit on.
Overall it’s a good process but I felt that there was a bait and switch at the end or perhaps the interviewers aren’t qualified to conduct an interview.
