      Senior Solutions Developer Interview

      16 Nov 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Unity in Oct 2020

      Interview

Interview process was fantastic, easily the best and smoothest of my entire career. I was referred by an existing employee. It consisted of an initial phone interview, followed by 3 sequential one-on-one Zoom interviews. The same Technical Recruiter conducted my initial phone interview as well as scheduling for all subsequent interviews, and presented the offer at the end. The timeline was: - Employee referral - 3 weeks later had a phone interview with a Technical Recruiter. This was a nice, casual 30-minute phone call going over the role, the company, as well as a bit about my background and salary expectations. Invite for next interview was sent later the same day. - 2 days later had a 45-minute Zoom interview with the Solutions Engineering Manager. This also felt like a casual conversation but with some more technical aspects. We discussed the work breakdown, average day in the life, where the team is heading, etc. Also discussed the more technical aspects of what I'd been doing at my current role (and previous roles), areas of interest, experience with Unity, etc. Invite for next interview was sent later the same day. - 3 days later had a 30-minute Zoom interview with a Senior Solutions Engineer, again all very conversational. This chat was more focused on interpersonal skills, ability to speak to clients, work well within a team, build good relationships. - 3 days later got invited to next interview. - 3 days later had a 30-minute Zoom interview with the Solutions Engineering Director. Again very casual, we discussed motivations for wanting to join the team, work-life balance, games we both like. - 1 day later had a phone call from the Technical Recruiter to present the offer and answer any questions. Offer was sent and signed that same day. Overall it was a great experience. The initial wait between being referred for the role and being contacted was a bit long but that's totally understandable as I'm sure they receive hundreds of applications. Once contact was made things then moved quite quickly, with all four interviews being conducted in under 2 weeks. The Technical Recruiter was very polite and very prompt with scheduling and always available to answer any questions.
