I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Unity (London, England) in Aug 2020
Interview
A recruiter from Unity reached to me on LinkedIn to discuss a Software Engineer role.
Firstly I had a phone interview with the said recruiter, where he told me more about the role itself and asked me some general questions regarding my education background and skills. Throughout the phone screening, the recruiter has been lovely and made me feel incredibly at ease.
Afterwards, I waited for feedback for about a week, but the recruiter was incredibly responsive for any questions I had in the meantime. Then, my application was passed onto another recruiter and proceeded to the next stage, consisting of an interview with the Lead member of the team of the Software Engineer role.
This second interview lasted a little more than an hour, and I was once more surprised by how welcoming and comfortable the whole process was. I never felt like I was critically scrutinised, but instead like I was having a formal conversation about my skills and why I would love to work for Unity.
Once this stage was over, I waited for about two weeks before hearing that I was successful and now I had to go through the last interview, which consisted of speaking with two Lead members of the team. During the waiting period, the recruiter reached out to me multiple times with additional information on the role and generally to give me any updates; I think it is quite rare to see this amount of dedication and time given to a candidate! It was a refreshing experience!
Lastly, the final interview lasted about two hours. It was both for me to talk about my previous professional experiences, skills and educational background, and for the interviewers to describe what it is like to work at Unity. Once again, the interview never felt tense or unpleasant, and both Lead members were genuinely interested in what I had to say and never dismissed my opinions or questions, which has unfortunately happened to me during other hiring processes at other companies.
Finally, once the final interview was done, I waited only a week before hearing back from the recruiter with an offer!
Overall, this experience was lovely! Everyone was amiable and kind; the recruiters always put effort into actively keeping in touch and being responsive. Furthermore, they went out of their way to even grant me a more informal interview with other members of the team to simulate what it would be like to meet them during an office tour!
The best hiring process I have been through so far!
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Unity (Copenhagen, Capital Region)
Interview
Did 2 stages. First and very pleasant with the recruiter, second with the tech manager. They changed the manager from DK to US team in the middle of the process and it was confusing. I had to do round 2 twice
