I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at United Surgical Partners (Kansas City, MO)
Interview
I was going to school and a facility in the area used our school for training hours. Amazing resource. I was able to reach out thru employee I trained with. She gave positive feedback from work ethic. I received a PRN job between facilities at the time. Then went full-time.

Interview
I received a call from the Office Manager at the Independence Missouri location to schedule an interview on Monday July 15, 2019. The gentleman on the phone was polite and even offered to conduct an interview in the evening that week to accommodate my current position. We scheduled for that Wednesday July 17, 2019 at 5:30 pm. I felt good about interviewing with an office manager that would work with me that way. The scheduled interview time (48 hours after our phone conversation) arrived and I showed up at the location at 5:20 pm. The office was locked and all lights were off. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited until 5:30 before calling his office number. The call of course went straight to the answering service. I sent him an e-mail regarding the empty building and left at 5:45 pm. I received a call at 6:13 pm from the Office Manager; first he tried to blame me by saying"are you sure you were even at the right suite? I was there the whole time. " I described the two offices flanking the location and the business name over the door indicating that I was at the correct location. He then proceeded to blame the rest of the office staff by saying "I told them to leave the door unlocked, I guess they didn't listen. " I then asked him "So, you were sitting in a dark, locked office waiting for me to arrive?' He said yes. He then mentioned that he had parked out back that day and that other staff members were waiting for me as well, that also parked out back. He offered to reschedule to which I responded that I would think about it and c all him if interested. (I did not call of course) What I didn't bother to tell him was that I had knocked on the door loudly multiple times between 5:30 and 5:45 and that I left by way of the back of the building. There was one car out back, likely a member of the cleaning personnel. I would have gladly reschedule had he apologized for forgetting about our meeting and not tried to throw his staff and myself under the bus for his mistake. I feel I dodged a bullet if this is the person responsible for payroll, PTO and other employee issues. It's OK to make mistakes, It's not OK to blame others and refuse to take ownership, apologize and offer to make things right. He did none of these.
