I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Union Pacific (Rawlins, WY) in Feb 2018
Interview
Attend presentation with other applicants. Do one on one interview. If you are one of the few selected you have a job. Although my start date got pushed back a month and I only found out after I arrived on time for my scheduled training. It was an error on company's part but keep in mind if was an applicant that lived out of state or I was relocating this would be a logistical and financial nightmare. They also repeatedly tell you as follows "DO NOT GIVE NOTICE OF RESIGNATION to current employer! You are not guaranteed an offer or have you received an offer of employment from the Union Pacific!" They never actually give you any official "offer of employment" but your hired access official the minute you have a scheduled date for the classes. Prepare to fight the system to get any reimbursement initially. Consider every single word they say about wages and payment a lie or 3 months before actually getting paid.

The interview process was very simple. After an email and a call I was set up for a virtual interview where I was asked questions about previous employment and why I wanted to work for the company
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Union Pacific (Baton Rouge, LA)
Interview
Hiring session, fast paced, they tell you all the cons and make sure you still want the job after all the horror stories. They will tell you everything to make you not want to go through the hiring process. Most of the time it seems like they want you to quit. Getting fired is a big topic and even with a job offer you are told you still don’t have a job until the 4+ months of training is done
