I applied online. I interviewed at UnderwriteMe in Feb 2026
Interview
I had an initial 25 minute video chat with their internal recruiter. She talked about the company, the working environment and a little bit about the role itself. I spoke about my experience. It was very typical of an initial call with an internal hiring manager.
I was told I'd hear back about the next stage of the process, but I heard nothing for a couple of weeks, so I sent an email directly to the recruiter, which she then proceeded to ignore as well. I get you don't have time to respond to every single application, but when someone has given 30 minutes of their time for a video conversation (and another hour on top for prep, etc), then it's just basic respect to send then a response to let them know that you won't be progressing with their application. It would take 2 minutes to write an email!
Clearly this could just be one rude individual, but perhaps it is representative of the company itself. Who knows!
The interview process took around four to five stages and lasted more than a month, including a very large take-home exercise. The overall timeline felt quite long.
For a company that values focus and speed in delivery, the hiring process could benefit from being faster and more streamlined. Shorter timelines and quicker feedback would help maintain candidate engagement and reduce the risk of losing strong potential hires during the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most of the interview questions focused on delivery metrics, program governance, and best practices for managing large technical initiatives. There was also strong emphasis on stakeholder management, communication, and ensuring transparency and delivery visibility for internal stakeholders.
HR and interviewer were polite, efficient. However, I could feel that the interview was more about knowledge extraction more than candidate screening. Ghosted after asking question on ideas for the role.
