Not surprised this company's rating is as unimpressive as it is, given my experience with their recruiter. They contacted me some time after I applied, interested in speaking to me about the role. The recruiter called four minutes late and didn't acknowledge it, and I could tell by their disinterested, lazy, flat tone that they'd already made up their mind about me before they'd even called. They asked about some of the shorter stints on my resume — all layoffs beyond my control, during and post-covid when layoffs were rampant, which they should be aware of. The skepticism in their voice was strong despite my explanations. They then proceeded to ask me questions they easily could've verified on their own, like what types of content I had experience writing. After the better part of a decade doing content marketing, I've almost literally done it all, but between the featured content on my LinkedIn, my portfolio, and my resume, they could've answered this on their own. Instead, I had to sit there and try to remember on the fly every single content type I've ever written across the span of my career, worrying that any I may have forgotten was being used against me. They proceeded to describe more of the work that the person in the role would be expected to do and even said it was all work that I'd done in the past. I said it sounded great and right up my alley. After a couple of days of no updates, I sent an email checking in. They didn't reply personally, but instead sent a generic rejection email. Incredibly classy, but probably reflective of the overall company culture. Really not sure why they wasted my time asking to speak with me if they had already made up their mind about me and was skeptical about my work history before we even spoke. They dangled a carrot in front of my face just to pull it away. So sick of dealing with recruiters like this who accomplish nothing but giving candidates the very worst first impression of a company.
