The recruiter who did my interview was the most condescending interviewer I have ever talked with. I was excited about the role and interviewing cause I have the experience but after my talk with her I left my conversation in tears because of how she made me feel. When I jumped on the call, she right away was like "so you're not working right now". I responded, "no, unfortunately I was laid off last year and have been applying to jobs since." She then goes on to say "that is a long time to be laid-off." I was taken back and told her "as you know the job market is tough but I have been actively applying to open roles and in the meantime volunteering and working on new skills." She was like "I don't see the volunteer work on your resume." I told her " I tailored this resume for the campus recruiting role advertised." Overall very condescending and rude. It felt like she didn't even review my resume because as I was sharing my experience in campus recruitment she seemed shock as if she had not read my interview. I had never experienced anything like this with a recruiter.
