I applied through a referral and it took about 2 days to get the first initial call. The phone screening was simple. We basically walked through the job description and my resume. Two weeks later, I was asked to come in to interview. Pretty typical timing but I had to reach out to them to see how the process was coming along. I drove about 6 hours total to interview with them in person. The interview went fairly well I thought, pretty simple. They talked about the company for a majority of the time but asked me simple questions throughout. After it was done I was told I would hear from them the following week and that they would like to reimburse me for my gar expenses for driving up there. Once I got home, I emailed a follow-up to the interviewer, thanking them for their time and for offering to reimburse me. Here it is about two months later and still never received any notification or the reimbursement. I know the job has been filled because it is gone from their website but I find it extremely unprofessional to not say anything to the candidates and offering a reimbursement but never providing that. A simple "no" would have made the whole situation seem more respectable and professional.
