I applied through university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at US Navy in Jul 2015
Interview
I received an interview after sending my resume through my college academic advisor. The phone interview was pretty standard. I basically just talked about everything on my resume. No technical questions. I was then given a face-to-face interview, with all travel expenses paid. I was shown around the facility and then met the department heads for interviews. We discussed how the company was organized and I talked about what I enjoyed in college and what departments at NAVAIR interested me

Describe your work experience and what you enjoyed about the classes you took in college.
I applied through university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at US Navy (Patuxent River, MD) in May 2015
Interview
Pretty relaxed. They brought me in and had a nice meet and greet set up where we got to meet with the branch heads and members of different teams and expressed our interest. This was the first day. The second day we had the actual interviews and overall they were generally easy going. Just asked mostly about prior experience in leadership roles, why I wanted to be an aerospace engineer, etc.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at US Navy (Dahlgren, VA) in Apr 2015
Interview
They bring you in and show you around and really just want you to like the place. They will make everything seem very interesting because for the most part it is. Just be calm and relaxed and make sure that you know what you are interviewing for beforehand.
