I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at US Census Bureau (Phoenix, AZ) in Mar 2020
Interview
No interview required. Hired initially as a clerk and was asked to start 2 weeks early before the main workforce started. I had already been working in the section for 5 months when I applied for the position when I learned the lead clerk was leaving. No interview was required by the section leader. I began the position when the original lead clerk transferred to another section.

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at US Census Bureau (Jeffersonville, IN) in Apr 2019
Interview
They called and scheduled and interview after a few months of applying. Process is very slow. I applied in March, interviewed in April, hired in June. The interview was conducted with two supervisors and they asked about 10 scripted questions and did not deviate from their script. Mostly "tell me about a time when..." style questions.
