There was an interview to get the scholarship for ROTC. Then in ROTC for four years, you pretty much have to just not mess up by failing class or your PT test as well as attend every event. Getting good grades, PT and another evaluation between your junior and senior year rank you for your desired jobs.

Applied for the ROTC program at my local college. The process took two months. Had to pass a background check, drug test, and physical. Interview was simple and straight forward since two wars were underway and they needed people.
