Interview
The entire interview process feels like reprimanding and belittling experience for the candidate.
When I interviewed for the position of a BDM, the hiring manager was extremely unprofessional in his assessment of his candidates. Here are some examples of his gas-lighting and arrogant attitude:
1) He started the interview by questioning my previous work and how my work was not comparable to what he had done in his previous job (outside Uniqgift). As I explained my thought process and results to prove, he basically shut me down by lording his experience over mine (which is weird because isn’t this an interview and not some phone call for you to flex yourself?)
2) Began to rant about his current employees/staff and why they are not suited to do the job of BD because they are ‘typical Singaporeans’ who don’t step out of their comfort zone and work using his method. Wanted to ‘refresh’ his team because they are not who he likes and would rather kick them out
3) Micro-analysing every word I said in the interview and kept interrupting me throughout the interview process to interject his thoughts and comments. THEN complaining that I didn’t present myself well.
Overall, the interview experience was quite daunting and harrowing for me.
