I had a screening call with HR which lasted about 20 minutes and then after that I had a video interview with hiring manager which lasted about an hour where we went over job expectations, my experience and some of the demands of the service. I was given an offer and then I was contacted by HR for onboarding. I then underwent credentialing and that’s when the trouble started. (Of note, I’m an internal UMMS employee that was attempting to transfer from one UMMS facility to another) Credentialing was very disorganized and ultimately the credentialing staff insisted on a physician who had to be a chairperson of a department; not just a attending physician I worked with. Additionally, they required that it had to be interventional cardiology (not cardiology). I had offered my current chair physician leader however because it was a different speciality the credentialing office would not accept. Ultimately after six months, I didn’t have much faith in the organization, so I withdrew my accepted offer.
