Kronos recruiter found me on linkedin and tried to sell me a great role with the company. I specifically asked if I had to relocate prior to agreeing to speaking to her. Her response was that the company will accept a remote employee for the right candidate.
I was interviewed by a total of 6 executives over a 7 week period. These were all phone interviews. Given the seniority of this position, I found it odd that I was never asked to do a face to face interview or even video interview.
In the end, I was told that they decided to give the position to a local candidate (even though everyone loved me) because it was important for the person to be able to be in the office everyday.
I have my doubts as to whether working remote was ever a possibility for this VP role. Perhaps the recruiter just said that via linkein messaging so I would agree to speak to her. But only she knows that answer because the job was never posted. I can't validate my suspicions.
