      Intern Interview

      11 Dec 2021
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at U.S. Bank

      Interview

Applied online then recruiter reached out after several weeks. Phone screening was nothing out of the ordinary, average questions and nice recruiter. Was bumped to the final round a week or so later. It was a video interview with the hiring manager. When the hiring manager and associate(s) logged into the call, they weren't on video which I thought was odd and not particularly transparent or well prepared. As other interviewers from other companies were equipped with video and were not camera shy. The manager and associates were nice but when I asked them their experience with interns, they replied that they have never worked with interns. I tried to be understanding of their experience but I asked them potential projects they might give to an intern and they couldn't answer the question with much detail. Nor could they answer my question about their general plans with an intern. I tried to wrap up the interview ASAP as I was getting red flags from the manager and I already had an offer from another company where I had an enjoyable interview experience and read positive internship reviews from anonymous interns.

Good, overall very simple, screening then video interview with an actual representative, took a while to hear back though. It was straightforward on questions, nothing too technical other than a bit about the market and how interest rates are.
