I had one phone screen with a recruiter and one interview with the hiring manager. The process took close to two weeks. The hiring manager thought it was a great feat to talk about how many times he fired Xactly to take on the work himself. I asked if he had any concerns about my ability to take on the role, so that I could address his concerns. Not only did he tell me no, but he went so far as to congratulate me on my abilities with the product and tell me that I should be proud of myself because my skill is rare and difficult to find. After that interview, I did not hear back from the recruiter for a week. She finally let me know that they decided to move forward with other candidates, but was still interested in keeping in touch. I asked if I could get some feedback on what to work on just in case any other roles opened up and was met with radio silence. I spent a great deal of time preparing to speak to these people and in the end, was treated like I was a waste of their time. I must have just been a diversity checkbox for them.
