The HR team at Twilio seemed to be very professional & right on the business. Everything from an interview-candidate perspective seemed streamlined. I was interviewed for two rounds over the phone & with live coding with stypi, and the link to stypi was shared by HR in an earlier e-mail. After the two phone rounds I was called for a F2F onsite interview at their San Francisco HQ. HR provided me a travel agent's number to book my tickets/accommodation & it was all taken care of. I didn't have to mess with the travel itineraries or hotels or payments/reimbursements at all. I flew to SF & back on the same day though.
In all I met five people onsite including twilio's young CTO. & later on I had another round of telephonic conversation with the hiring manager. The questions put to me by each of the five members were eclectic, generic & diverse. Very generic problems but complex solutions. It was fun solving a real-world problem in an interview room although by the end of the 4th round I was almost drained out & could hardly apply my thoughts anymore. It was very useful that I got a glimpse of problems/domain that I will be working on, if I join them.
Overall, the interview process was streamlined, no-nonsense & focused on candidate's aptitude & technical experience rather being focused only on past experience as many others do.
