      Tutor III - Math/Science Interview

      5 Apr 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Tutor.com in Sept 2011

      Interview

First, you will submit an application including your background, teaching experience, and a writing sample. Resumes are not accepted. Then, you can take subject tests in the areas you wish to tutor. A minimum score of 88% (22/25) is required to pass. You should pass as many as possible. If tutor.com needs tutors in those subjects, you'll complete an interview/mock session with a manager and wait for a background check to clear. If tutor.com doesn't need those types of tutors, you'll be placed on a waitlist.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

In the interview, the manager will play the role of a student asking for help in one of the areas you want to tutor. My interviewer pretended to need help with a separable differential equation (calculus).
